In 2009, Heidi Love, began following her dream of sharing the Napa Valley, California wine country experience with friends in the Tennessee area. Vino in the House was born - a wine consulting and tasting experience that offers small production, handcrafted wines created by local Napa Valley vintners. Heidi grew up in the beautiful Napa Valley. She and her husband, Roddy, moved to Tennessee in 2005 but often visit Napa, where many of their friends and family members make wine. It's always a special treat for them to bring some of that vino back to Tennessee!
Wine is a passion of Heidi’s. Now she’s bringing the Napa Valley wine country to Tennessee by sharing some of the finest, limited edition, boutique wines with the people she meets every day. From planting and growing the vines, to knowing the precise time to harvest, crushing, fermenting and bottling, wine is truly an art and a science. But the most important factor, is that we love the way it tastes and pairs beautifully with the foods we enjoy!

Meet Our Vintners
"When I decided to launch Vino in the House, I knew that I wanted to feature wines from my native Napa, California. I wanted to bring some of Napa's best kept secrets to my new home, Tennessee. I am so honored to be able to say that I personally know these amazing vintners. Their talents with the art and science of wine making go above and beyond what one would expect. I could go on and on but the vino speaks for itself". Heidi Love
Brookdale Winery
Kristi Seitz, Proprietor
The name “Brookdale” takes us back to a horse farm in New Jersey where the Seitz Family was raised. The original farm in New Jersey has since been converted into a community college and a state park, still bearing the name Brookdale. In addition, today you will find Brookdale Farm located in Kentucky where Uncle Fred Seitz founded a well-renowned race horse breeding farm in 1983. You’ll notice a horse on the front of the Brookdale wine label which ties the family history together.
For herself, Kristi's love for Napa Valley began as a child. It took many years for her to realize the beauty of being “born and raised” in Napa. As a teenager, you can’t wait to leave; as an adult, you can’t wait to return. She realized as a young adult the beauty of Napa Valley and ventured home in 1996. Soon after, she met Mike Seitz and they married in 2000. Together, with their shared ‘love’ for Napa, they turned dreams into reality by finding success in the wine industry.
Their love for Napa Valley, Mike’s love of farming, and the opportunity to purchase premium grapes inspired them to establish their own winery, Brookdale Vineyards. While operating Brookdale Vineyard Management, Mike had the good fortune to farm grapes for several well-known growers in Napa Valley. These relationships immediately turned to opportunity! They were given the privilege to cherry-pick premium fruit from prestigious Napa Valley vineyards for their own winery. They were thrilled and leaped into the world of ‘vintners’ with full-force. Their two newly developed companies enjoyed immediate success. The connections they made in the vineyard management business proved to be prosperous for their own wine brand.
The year 2003, as they enjoyed the success of their two companies, brought both joy and sorrow to their family. In March, Kristi and Mike rejoiced in the birth of their son, Charlie. Tragically, six months after their son was born Kristi lost her husband, Mike, in a farming accident. The challenges have been many, and the support from family and friends has been tremendous. Charlie has, and will always be Kristi's life-saver!
I recall Mike saying, “Someday, my wish is for Charlie to take full control of the winery so we can sit back and relax.” His wish inspires me to guide Charlie to the best of my ability in teaching him the wine industry and hope that he will share his family’s love of Napa Valley. Charlie is my full-time support and the backbone of my driving force to pursue our dream.
In driving the winery forward to greater acclaim and prominence, I have sustained the dream along with Mike’s indomitable spirit for myself and our son Charlie. Please celebrate with me, our dedication and my ultimate commitment to keep the dream alive.

Bardessono Vineyards
Tom Bardessono, Proprietor
For over 80 years, the Bardessono family has been farming grapes and providing fruit for some of Napa Valley's most prestigious producers. John Bardessono and his brother-in-law, Martin Zucco, purchased the Yountville vineyard property in 1926 with earnings from their work in an old copper mine.
Eventually, the land was handed down to John's sons, Pete and Steve, who continued to farm wine grapes and sold them to prominent Napa Valley wineries for over 50 years. Again, the property was handed down to Pete's son Tom, who is the current owner and manager of Bardessono Vineyards today. For many years, Tom and his father worked side-by-side, farming wine grapes and making wines they enjoyed with family and friends.
Tom also acquired winemaking and production experience working for Robert Mondavi Winery and Opus One, in between wine courses at UC Davis. When his father died in 2001, Tom decided to combine his professional winemaking experience with his personal knowledge of wine grape farming. He worked on a business plan for making wine for eighteen months and he finally decided to take the plunge in 2003. Tom knew many people with world renown vineyards and he knew that if he purchased the right grapes he could make a great wine.
In 2003, Tom bought grapes and began the journey that is driving him today. Tom pays homage to his family's history with the copper foiling of the "JB" on each wine's front label, in recognition of his grandfather, John Bardessono.
Salexis Vineyards
John and Ann Gibson, Proprietors
Salexis wines are artistically crafted wines from John and Ann Gibson in the Napa Valley. The name Salexis is derived from their daughter's name Sarah Alexis. John is the highly skilled, well known winemaker. Ann assists John in the cellar, works in the office, as well as teaches middle school. Sarah is currently in her third year of high school.
Salexis Wines began as a 20 year dream for John. While working as winemaker for family owned wineries and vineyards such as Stag's Leap Wine Cellars, Vine Cliff Winery, Snowden Vineyards, Frazier Winery, Rockledge Vineyards, Andrew Geoffrey Vineyards, Beckstoffer Vineyards, and Gerber Vineyards, John found himself among some great fruit. In 1998, when some of the best Merlot grapes in the valley were made available from Snowden Vineyards, his dream came true. Thus the first vintage of Salexis Wines was produced. About 240 cases were made of that vintage. About 500 cases of this wine are made annually.
In 2001, Salexis began to make Chardonnay (Ann's favorite wine) to compliment the Merlot. John turned to an old friend and grape grower from his days at Stag's Leap Wine Cellars, Andrew Beckstoffer, to provide Salexis with superior Chardonnay grapes from his Carneros Lake Vineyard. The first vintage yielded about 240 cases. About 400 cases of this wine are made annually.
Knowing that Cabernet Sauvignon is what the Napa Valley is best known for, it was only a matter of time before Salexis dove into this impressive varietal. Salexis is working with small independent growers in several appellations of the Napa Valley. In 2005, Salexis bottled 125 cases of a Cabernet Sauvignon designated as Napa Valley. Now that the vineyards have matured reaching our quality standards Salexis Wines is producing a Reserved Cabernet Sauvignon.
The Salexis Wines label was conceived by three loves in John and Ann's lives. The chambered nautilus shell in the background represents John's passion for scuba diving, and underwater photography. The piece of native American Indian pottery in the foreground represents Ann's love for ceramics. The name Salexis represents their love for their only child, Sarah Alexis.
Salexis Wines is committed to producing the highest quality wines. The quantities are limited in size that allows John, Ann, and Sarah to do all of the work themselves insuring that you receive only the very best. They believe that wine is best accompanied with food, family, and friends. Enjoy their wine in good health!
